The North Spartan Baptist Association now has a presence on Facebook. Hopefully, this will be another way of sharing information about the happenings with the churches of our association. Also, it could prove to be a great way to build community between the members of our churches. Please take a moment to join our group. Just click on the following link to to head over to Facebook.

Sunday School Conference 2010
Sponsored by North Spartan Baptist Association
Saturday, August 28th Fairview Baptist Church, Spartanburg
1551 Bryant Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303
8:00 am till 2:00 pm with lunch provided

As I have talked to Pastors and Educational Directors there seems to be a lot of frustration over the work of the Sunday School. In most churches we have become stagnated or even declining in attendance. It has become more about a program than the people that sit in our classes. Pastor’s we would love to invite you to join us along with your staff and key leaders as we explore a fresh new look at one of the greatest tools God has given us in the Sunday School. Taken from the perspective of Matt. 28: 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” Here are a few of the topics we will be discussing.
·        What it really means to become a disciple
·        Traits and Phases of a disciple
·        Creating environments where disciples are made
·        Making disciples who make disciples
·        Sunday School must be a TEAM sport
·        Organizing your Sunday School for effective work
·        Class leadership responsibilities
·        How’s your welcome

IF THIS WOULD BE OF INTREST TO YOUR CHURCH, PLEASE CALL THE ASSOCIATIONAL OFFICE TO SIGN UP. DEADLINE TO SIGN UP WILL BE SATURDAY, AUGUST 20TH .

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE CONFERENCE

Montana Missions

During July 9-16, the 17 person mission team from the North Spartan Association traveled to Billings, Montana, to assist in a sports camp. The camp was held Monday thru Thursday with an average attendance of 503 children! On Thursday the plan of salvation was shared. During the invitation 78 children raised their hands that they had prayed to received Jesus!

We will journey to Montana again next year during July 8-15. Let me know if you would like to go with us.  (ken@northspartan.net)
